B. Get Verified

If your PayPal account is already Verified, you can skip ahead to Setup your PayPal account for Ticketbook.

You will see that your account status is "Australian - Unverified (new)". PayPal has two account status' - Unverified and Verified. You do not need to become Verfied in order to use your PayPal account with Ticketbook. However, there are advantages to doing so. The following is a brief summary of the reasons you should become Verified. For full details, click the Get verified link on the left hand side of your PayPal Account page, then click Why do I need to become verified ? The summary of reasons is:
  1. The verification process confirms that you actually live where you say you do. PayPal will send you a letter that has a code in it that you use to prove you received the letter at your postal address. Therefore, being Verified gives your customers more confidence that your company exists. In the case of using PayPal with Ticketbook, this may not be an issue.
  2. Once verified, you can use the PayPal Seller Protection and PayPal Buyer Protection schemes. Again, this is probably not a big deal in your use of PayPal with Ticketbook.
  3. Once verified, you can increase the limits on the amount of money you transfer into and out of your PayPal account. Depending on the size of your business, this may be an issue.
If you wish to become Verified with PayPal, follow the links and instructions on the the PayPal site (start with Get verified). Remember, your Ticketbook system will work whether or not you get verified with PayPal.

The verification process takes a few days. PayPal will send you a letter by post and also deposit a few cents into your bank account. If you wish to become verified you can continue with these instructions and return to verify once you have your letter.
